part 1 | part 2 | part3

Which magazines do you read yourself?
I am sad to say that I don't read much anymore. Neither books nor magazines. I read so much at work that I am bored by it. It's terrible. I used to consume books. But I do buy lots of magazines, and then I kinda just look at the graphics and the design and colors, Then I put them in this big growing pile of inspiration. All kinds of magazines from Frank and Jane to Conde Nast Traveller, Form, Vagabond and Teenage pop mags. Anything.

What do you do when you're not working?
When I am not working I play golf. Lots of it. I also still freelance hobbywise with illustrations. I love to travel and I have just come back from a three week long golf vacation in Spain. I also love playing the piano, trying to learn how my new trumpet works. Also just hanging out with friends and my boyfriend Gabriel.

What do you see yourself doing in five years from now?

Five years from now I work with my own company with illustrations. I will probably be doing a lot of design work together with Gabriel and our friend Alex.

Do people on the street recognize you as the editor-in-chief of Cap & Design?
No, not at all. It has never happened, and I am 100 percent certain that it never will. And I am glad. I don't do the mingling around the arena that would be necessary for that.

What do you enjoy most about your job?
The creativity, and the chaos. Getting to meet all the people that have such fantastically crazy ideas in their genius heads. Getting to actually solve other people's problems is great too. That's what we are here for, right? Making the everyday work of a designer easier.
